TESS is empanelled as Assessing Body under Skill Development and Initiative Scheme (SDI Scheme) by Director General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Skill Development, Government of India vide registration no. PAB00100. TESS also got the authentication as International Standard Organization (ISO 9001-2000).
An Assessment is defined as a structured process in which evidence of performance is gathered and evaluated against agreed criteria. Assessment is the process of evidence collection of a person's competence level through range of methods — tests, observations, interviews, assignments and professional discussions etc.
TECHNICAL EDUCATION & SOCIAL SERVICES (TESS) assessment process under SDI Scheme aims to test and certify the competency of the persons those seeking certification of their skills acquired informally or the persons who have been trained at the registered VTPs. Assessment methodology has been designed keeping in mind the basic educational qualification of the candidates, the need of theoretical and practical knowledge with appropriate level of competency and the aim of generating employable workforce in the country.
